Dear AP,
I am a reader of your magazine and I had a question
about filters. In which way shall I choose the right
filter for lens?
Regs,
Debjit Dutta
Dear Debjit,
Your question is very interesting since at a time
and age where people only use digital filters you have
asked about a physical one. Well frankly there aren’t
too many photographers that really use filters anymore
honestly. Most of the work on the photographs is
added in post.
But if you are looking
at filters to also protect
your lens, then a UV
filter is something that is
always advisable. Apart
from this a polarizer is
also a good filter to have.
But you might want to
check if you still get these
filters easily.

Dear Editor,
I am a beginner photographer. I have Nikon D3300.
I am confused between Nikkor 40 mm and Tamron
90 mm Di Macro lens. 40 mm is cheaper than
Tamron, but most reviewer comments negative on
its shorter focus distance. Should I go for Tamron?
Regs,
Jagdish Rathva
Dear Jagdish,
It is good to know that you have some interest in
the Macro field. And I am hoping that you liked the
issue that we are putting up this month which features
some great Macro work. But coming to your question
about the lens then the Tamron Macro lens is actually
quite good since it is built as a Macro lens from the
ground up.
We use a lot of Tamron
lenses as well across the
board and they give good
output depending on
what you are shooting. So
yes you can surely go for
Tamron.
