Folder Transfer test
We put each card through a folder transfer test. For this
we changed our standard parameter and we created a
folder containing 2GB (Instead of 1GB) data which included
videos, photographs, Mp3 files, setup files and word files. We
transferred the folder from the computer to the SD card and
vice versa and recorded the time taken to do so. Transferring
the folder from card to computer was recorded as the read
time, and from computer to card as the write time. The read
time for the Kingston was clocked at 27.31 seconds. SanDisk
was slower than the Kingston clocking 27.48 seconds to read
the files. When it came to the write time, Kingston recorded
37.85 seconds while SanDisk had almost the same write time
of 37.17 seconds. However the overall performance of both the
cards in the folder read-write test was neck and neck.

In-Camera test
We took the SD cards and ran it through our next test, the
in-camera test. The camera used for the test was a standard
Nikon D850 with fixed a shutter speed of 1/125s, aperture 7.
and ISO 100. The camera was set to continuous shutter (High
burst mode) and photographs were taken in JPEG. Photos were

shot for 30 seconds and the total shots were divided by 30 to
get frames per second comparison of the two cards. Kingston
had a score of 6.63 fps, along with SanDisk which was a close
second at 6.3 fps. Here as well, the cards performed almost
exactly the same.
Each of the cards fought extremely hard in the tests,
proving once again the fierce but healthy competition between
the manufacturers.

Conclusion

SanDisk Extreme PRO SDXC UHS- I 256GB
Card
SanDisk came second in the Crystal
Disk Mark test with a read speed of 90.
MB/s, and a write speed of 71.25 MB/s.
In the folder transfer test the SanDisk
had a slightly faster write speed by 0.
seconds, clocking 37.17 seconds, and in
the read speed department it clocked at
27.48 seconds. The in-camera test score amounted to 6.3 fps.
Priced at `13590* (MRP), it is comparatively a pocket friendly
high-performance card, thus taking the second place in the
shootout.

Kingston SDXC UHS- I 256GB Card
The Kingston consistently performed
toe to toe almost in every test. It had a very
good score in the Crystal Disk Mark test,
clocking a read speed of 90.34 Mb/s, and
a write speed of 76.31 Mb/s, and also in the
in-camera performance test with a higher
score of 6.63 fps. In the folder transfer test it
was close to its competitor with a read time
of 27.31 seconds and a write time of 37.
seconds. While it marginally beats the SanDisk
in most of the tests, it is also quite pocket friendly
coming in at `12,999* (MRP).
