How to Reach Gangtok:
By Air: The nearest airport to Gangtok
is approximately 124 kilometers away in
Bagdogra, WB. From the airport, you can
hire a sharing taxi or a private vehicle that
will get you to Gangtok in a matter of 5-6
hours. The drive from Bagdogra Airport to
Gangtok is absolutely stunning with beautiful
mountains and River Teesta as your scenery.
From Bagdogra, you can also catch a TSA
helicopter to get to Gangtok in just 30-40
minutes. However, the helicopter service
depends on the weather status. Chopper
fl ights also get canceled due to insuffi cient
bookings.
By Train: The nearest railway station to
Gangtok is about 148 kilometers away in
New Jalpaiguri in Siliguri. The railway station
is well-connected to major cities like Kolkata
and New Delhi. From New Jalpaiguri you can
hire a taxi to Gangtok or go to Siliguri Bus
Station and catch a bus to Gangtok, which
will take you about 5-6 hours.
By Road: Tourists travelling in from nearby
places like Siliguri, Darjeeling, Kalimpong and
