PixtoCam for

Android Wear

Google recently
updated Android Wear
so that it can act as a
remote trigger for the
stock Android Camera app. However,
Pixtocam takes it a step further by
turning your smartwatch’s LED screen
into a remote viewfi nder for your
phone. Not only does this make you
look like James Bond on a covert spy
mission, it’s a great way to take group
shots of yourself and your friends – or
if you’re using voice commands,
taking photos hands-free.

As well as providing a real-time
image on your wrist of what your
phone can see, for both photography
and video recording, you can swipe
your smartwatch face to zoom the
camera in and out, toggle the fl ash on
and off, choose resolution, as well as
set the self-timer. It works particularly
well with the Moto 360’s circular
interface. So throw away those selfi e
sticks and try this fantastic
photography app.

While you can always
ask Google Now aloud
to answer a maths
question, that’s not
always appropriate. Calc Wear
makes it easy to solve simple
problems, such as adding up a bill
or dividing a cheque, with an
on-screen calculator. It only works
with square displays, however.
