he Nexus range has always

represented Google’s gold

standard for what each

Android update could offer. As well

as running a pure version of Android

without unwanted apps added by

manufacturers, devices such as the

Nexus 7 are always fi rst in line for

updates, and – until the brand new

Nexus 6 and 9 – were always reasonably priced.

However, you only have to look at the clunky Nexus 10

tablet to know that Google’s own-brand devices are not

without their fl aws, with no expandable storage and early

reports the Nexus 9 has a tendency to overheat.

Fortunately, they are also one of the easiest devices to

hack. So head to page 39 onwards to fi nd out how to

unlock stock Android’s true power and fi x these common

problems. If you’ve been having problems with Android

Lollipop on your Nexus 7, fi rst head to page 8 for quick

troubleshooting. If that doesn’t work, head to page 43 to
