is presented. Calendar details are clear, the

apps you can launch from the lockscreen are
customisable(you’restillrequiredto enter
your unlock code, too) and different
backgrounds are available for different
locations (such as home and work).
Perhapsmostimportantistheapp’s
attitude to privac y. Certain calendar accounts
and apps can be hidden from the lockscreen,
ascanthecontentsofSMStextmessages.

To unlock your phone, drag your fi nger
down the display below the clock. You will then be
prompted to unlock your phone as usual, and this
is also true if you attempt to open an app from one
of the Next Lock Screen shortcuts.

You can tailor Next Lock Screen to your
requirements. Three menus – Work, Home and On
The Go – are available and each can be confi gured
to show different apps. To delete an icon,
long-press and tap the X. Tap ‘+’ to add an icon.

In Settings, tap Hidden Apps, where apps
you want to hide from the lockscreen can be
added. Use Manage Calendar Cards to set which
calendar updates on the lockscreen. You can also
toggle Show SMS Content for further privacy.

In the lower left corner you’ll find the Settings
button, which opens a new screen split into Basics
and Advanced. In the first section you’ll find the Turn
On Next Lock Screen switch, as well as the option to
toggle the number of meeting cards displayed.

Also in the Basics section is the Wallpaper
menu, where you can select a trio of wallpapers
from 16 designs – plus custom – to apply to Work,
Home and On The Go. Switch between these
modes on the lockscreen, just above the icon list.

viewed by locking the phone or putting it on
standby and reactivating the display. Date and
time, new SMS messages, calendar events and
app icons are shown – tap the arrow above these.
