Apps

Another year and
another Football
Manager game is
set to grace millions of
smartphones and tablets up
and down the country.This
time around there’s not a whole
lotofchangesbetweenthe
2015 edition and the 2014
version, but the new additions
certainly add to the game’s charm.
There’s a new scouting mode, making
it easier to identify prime targets
based on their potential, as well a
ranking system where you can see
how your club stacks up against the
rest of the world. There are noticeable
cosmetic changes, too, with the 2D
match engine looking better than ever
and menus being less complex. This
year Sports Interactive has also

included a range of in-app purchases
to extend your FM experience, with
challenges being the highlight here. It
still lacks the finesse of the desktop
version of the game, but this is the
best mobile port yet.

Football Manager

Handheld 2015

“Arsenal’s issue is that they try and walk it in...”

It was only a couple
of months ago that
we were being
spooked by the animatronics
at Freddy Fazbear’s restaurant,
but the sequel introduces a lot
of new changes to stave off
the attack of Freddy and his
creepy friends.
Players have more cameras
to keep an eye on. You are also
equipped with a torch to illuminate
darken corners and interfere with the
enemies’ sensors, although this
quickly drains its limited battery so
you have to be careful.
There are no doors to your offi ce
this time around and instead you can
be attacked from all angles, so it’s
incredibly important to keep your
wits about you.
Players are given an animatronics
head to wear as a disguise if one of

the crazed machines gets too
close, but you are incredibly limited
regarding your actions until they have
passed you by.
With several plot twists and scare
jumps galore, Five Nights at
Freddy’s 2 is a sequel worth
screaming about.

TwoDots

The premise of TwoDots is simple enough: connect dots of matching
coloursandcleartheboardinasfewmovesaspossible.There’salot
of strategy to get the dots cleared in the required number of moves,
with levels soon becoming tough to complete. Where TwoDots differentiates
itself from the competition is by giving the player a set amount of lives to
complete each level. It’s a sneaky way of trying to get people to purchase more
lives using in-app purchases, but it’s not essential to buy these.
Currently there are 30 levels to get through and although that may not seem
alot,it’shardtoexpresshowdifficultsomeofthelastfewlevelsareto
complete. It’s a task worth taking on, though, as TwoDots is a fantastically fun
and engaging puzzler – just try to stay clear of the in-app purchases.

Special moves
On occasion you’ll be
granted a selection of
special moves to use on a
level. These include
adding to your number of
moves, or giving you a hint
on your next one.

Level select
The more levels you
complete, the further up
the mountain you will
climb. However, by failing
a level you’ll drop down
the mountain. So try to
avoid slipping up.

Create squares
One helpful tip to
remember is that
connecting squares of
same-coloured dots will
earn you more points, as
well as clearing the board
a lot faster.

Who knew dots could be so frustrating?

High score
Each level has an optimal way to
complete it, which will end up giving
you the best possible score. It’s not
that important, however, and instead
you should focus on simply getting
through the level
