Innergie PocketCell
» Price £59.99/$54.99
» More information myinnergie.com
Whereas so many battery packs struggle to fit
extra juice for your device into a portable shape,
the 90mm PocketCell is no larger than a cigarette
lighter and slips easily into your pocket. Its
3000mAh battery promises over 15 hours of
power, but this only applies to small devices.
During our testing, high use on a flagship phablet
lasted 8-10 hours.

STKCuboidPowerBank

This power bank is a similar shape and size to the PocketCell, but
with squared-off edges and input and output ports placed on the
same face rather than on either end. With a 2600mAh battery, it
holds a lot less charge than the PocketCell – or most of the power
banks here – but this is a trade-off for the budget price.

Native Union Jump Cable

» Price £39.99/$49.99
» More information nativeunion.com
This Kickstarter success story has a unique feature: when acting as an
adaptor so that you can charge your phone from a wall socket or laptop, the
Jump Cable will detect when your device’s battery is full and automatically
begin charging itself. This means that, in theory, it should remain fully
charged when you need to use it out and about. However, a full charge of its
tiny 800mAh battery only equates to around a 20 per cent boost, or around
2.5 hours extra talk time, which is hard to justify given its price tag is higher
than most of the bigger battery packs in this group test.
