AMAZING AUTOMATION APPS

Oneofthe biggest
names in
automation apps, IFTTT
is also one of the easiest
to use. Best suited to
online services, add two
of them together to form
‘recipes,’ such as
Instagram and Dropbox
to instantly back up
your photos.

1 IFTTT

Dessin offers a
highly visual way
of automating your
Android device. It
enables you to make
notes, draw mind-maps
and even build circuits
out of nodes
representing your
handset’s features and
system activities.

» Price: £2.99/$2.

If you’re familiar
with IFTTT, you
might also like Atooma.
This free download
offers greater control of
system activities, such
as Bluetooth and GPS.
It lacks the depth of
Tasker, but employs a
user-friendly colour-
coding system.

Satsomewhere
between IFTTT
and Tasker, AutomateIt’s
interface is a little dull to
look at, but it is packed
with lots more features.
Navigation is intuitive,
with sliders making it
easy to jump between
the Trigger, Action and
Rule menus.

Despite the cute
Droid icon, Condi
has a workmanlike
interface. Previously
known as Mini Tasker,
Condi offers a level of
customisation on par
with AutomateIt, but
with the added benefi t
of having absolutely no
in-app purchases.

Tasker offers an
incredible level
of control and
customisation. The
downside is it’s difficult
to master, requiring you
to set up different
profiles for each
automation, before
adjusting a subset of
complex variables.

6 Tasker

» Price: £2.99/$2.
