1

Tap to wake
In Android Lollipop, you can tap your screen
twice to wake it rather than pressing the
power button. Your hardware will need to
support the facility, but most modern handsets
should work and the power button could soon
become a thing of the past.

2

Save maps offl ine
In Google Maps, if you type ‘OK maps’ into
the search box, the app will offer to save
the current area you are viewing for offl ine
navigation. This is particularly useful if you are
expecting to lose the internet connection in that
particular area.

3

Reduce Chrome data use
If mobile data usage is restricted on your
plan, you can go to Settings in Chrome
and then tap the ‘Reduce data usage’ option.
When switched on, this facility will compress
pages before they are downloaded to your
device, which could save you money.
