Removing Java 6: Prepare a System for Android 5
Open the Control Panel, shown in Figure 16-1, and use Programs and Features to uninstall old
versions of Java. On my system, this was Java 6u45, so I selected what I wanted to uninstall and
clicked the Uninstall button.

Your workstation is now ready to install the latest Java 7 SE JDK (Java Development Kit), so let’s do
that next!

Google the term “Java 7 JDK download” and get the latest link to the Oracle TechNetwork Java SE 7
download page, shown in Figure 16-2. Select the Accept License Agreement radio button and
download the latest Java 7 version. If you have a 64-bit workstation, use the x64 version; otherwise,
use the x86 (32-bit) version.
