Exploring Android Studio 5: Configuring an IDE


If you left the (default) Start Android Studio option checked in the final installation dialog, shown
on the right side of Figure 16-11, once you click on the Finish button Android Studio will launch, as
shown in Figure 16-12.

I chose not to import any previous settings, installing a “virgin” Android Studio installation. Once
I clicked the OK button, an Android Studio loader screen and progress bar, shown on the right
side of Figure 16-12, appeared. Once the Android Studio IDE has loaded into system memory, the
Welcome to Android Studio dialog appears, as shown in Figure 16-13. I decided to investigate the
Configuration options for Android Studio first by clicking on the Configure option, which gave me
another list of configuration options from which to select.
