>> Panasonic LUMIX S1H Cinema Video Camera
Late in August, Panasonic announced a camera that definitely got the attention of
videographers and cinematographers: The Panasonic LUMIX S1H is a mirrorless camera
equipped with a full-frame image sensor, which is the world’s first camera capable of video
recording at 6K-resolution at 24 frames per second.
The company had announced this camera at NAB earlier this year but delivered the news
without specs or pricing. It’s not just the ability to take 6K-resolution footage that’s impressive.
The camera can also shoot well beyond the common recording time limit of 29 minutes and 59
seconds. (Panasonic even put a cooling fan in to ensure the camera doesn’t overheat.)
Some notable features include:- A newly developed 24.2-megapixel full-frame image sensor.
- Claims more than 14 stops of dynamic range.
- Swiveling touchscreen LCD.
- 5-axis dual image stabilization (IBIS).
- V-Log/V-Gamut compatible (like those found on its Varicam line).
- HDR (High Dynamic Range) in HLG (Hybrid Log Gamma); 4:2:2 10-bit HDMI output and
Anamorphic 4:3 modes are also available. - Dual Native ISO technology can be switched manually between LOW (ISO 640-5000) and
HIGH (ISO 4000-51200).
