The ideal navigational companion for your
Samsung Galaxy device

Navigating
with maps
Google’s Maps app is
a mature and effi cient
navigational tool that takes
full advantage of your
Samsung Galaxy’s built-in
GPS system (Fig 1). With GPS,
you can plan a wide number
of routes that will not only
be graphically represented
within the app, but can also
be converted into turn-by-
turn instructions showing
you how to get there.

Find your feet
Maps is an easy-to-use
and effi cient app that
will routinely undertake a
number of location-related
tasks, such as devising routes from A to B and fi nding useful
and important locations in your area or further afi eld. To do this,
however, the app – and by extension your Samsung Galaxy device


  • has to be able to know where you are in the world, which it does
    by utilising the GPS system that comes as part of your Galaxy device.
    When you buy the phone, this feature will be set to Off by default.
    Hence, you naturally have to turn it on to get the full use of Google’s
    Maps facilities.
    To get this particular function up and running, go to your home
    screen and tap the Menu button, followed by Settings. Scroll down
    to the Network Connections section, where you will notice the
