detailed at the bottom of the screen, and swiping left and right will
take you through all of the results, while simultaneously highlighting
their position on the map. Tapping the List icon that appears in the
search box gives you all the results in list form, ordered by proximity.
Traffic and transport
Google Maps has long had support for live traffic information, and
this has been further developed in the latest version of the app.
From the main map screen tap on the list icon in the top-left corner
to access the menu. The first option on the list is Traffic. Tapping
this adds live traffic information to the map, with colour coding on
major roads: green shows traffic flowing normally, yellow suggests
heavy traffic but no delays, and red indicates delays. Traffic incidents
are also reported. A road sign icon appears on the map, and tapping
it opens a pop-up window revealing the nature of the incident as
well as guidance on how this will affect your travel plans. If you’re
not driving you can also access public transport information within
the app. Open the sidebar once again and select the second option.
You’ll now see routes and stations for various types of transport as
well as, in supported regions, schedule information.
