Fitness on your
smartphone
The S Health app has dozens
of tools to help you monitor
and improve your general
health and fi tness. At its
simplest, S Health can take
your basic information (height,
weight, age etc) and create a
series of customisable goals
that are tailored specifi cally
to you. Begin by opening S
Health and inputting and
saving your details.

Smart fi tness
S Health does much more
than allow you to log and
review all of your fi tness and
dietary information. With the
use of the Galaxy S5, S6 or
S7, or a Galaxy Gear (tap the
chain icon in the Heart Rate
window to sync your smartwatch) you’ll be able to keep accurate
information on your exercise, including distance travelled and
through the use of GPS the exact route that you took. The fi rst most
useful tool that you’ll be able to fully utilise with the smartphone or
smartwatch is the pedometer. This can be found at the bottom of
the main S Health window. Tap the icon then tap pause. From now
on, your device will be counting your steps, even when S Health
isn’t open. The second most useful tool is the heart rate monitor.
