Customising your
Galaxy device
When you fi rst set up your
Galaxy device, many settings
will have been taken care of.
There’s a lot you can do to
personalise these, though, from
changing the home and lock-
screen wallpapers to altering
the fonts or the sounds used
for ringtones, alerts and more.
Diff erent Galaxy devices have
diff erent features – here, we’re
looking at the Galaxy S7 (Fig 1).

Control the
system sounds
There are lots of diff erent ways
in which your Galaxy device
uses sound. The one that is likely
to spring to mind immediately
is ringtones, but there are many others. How about all the diff erent
kinds of notifi cations for diff erent incoming communications? There
are lots and lots of built-in sounds that you can use as ringtones
and notifi cation alerts, and experimenting with them can be an
entertaining experience.
In fact, some of the sounds aren’t really like noises at all. These
relate to vibrations and something called ‘haptic feedback’, which
refers to those small tactile jolts you get when you tap and hold
