tracks by the artist or band who performed them. You can swipe all
the way to the far right in order to reveal the Folder button. Tapping
this allows you to see a basic grouping of your tracks in terms
of where they’re stored. This option is ideal if you want to group
different music formats and styles together.
The MP3 is no longer the only popular format out there either.
Extra memory (the Galaxy S7’s 32GB of storage can be expanded
massively with Micro SD memory cards) means that FLAC and WAV-
format music files are numerous and common nowadays.


Master playback controls
Playing music provides many additional
interface options. The base of the screen
shows the basic Play/Pause button in the
centre and the Forward and Backward
buttons to skip tracks on either side. Tap the
track name to be taken to a new play screen
showcasing the album sleeve art and plenty
more options besides. Swipe the artwork left
and right to skip tracks, press the icon just underneath to the left
to shuffle tracks, the icon to the right of that repeats one or more
tracks. The interface is simple and accessible to every music fan, and
ideal for quickly finding the songs you want to hear.


Create playlists
To access a playlist, swipe through the options at the top of the
screen until you come to Playlists. If you wish to create a new
playlist, tap on the ‘+’ icon at the bottom of the screen next to the
‘Create Playlist’ header. A new box will then appear on the screen.
Enter a catchy title for your new playlist and tap Create. Now you
need to start choosing tracks to add. Tick the box to select a track
and then tap Done when you have finished.

option to bring up a list of
presets for music styles.

‘Basic’ option to bring up a more
advanced control set.
