More About Pangolins

The Chinese pangolin is found in southeast China. The

word pangolin comes from a Malayan word meaning

roller. Even though the Chinese pangolin is not closely

related to the anteater, it only eats ants and termites.

The Chinese pangolin can turn into an armored

bowling ball. If it senses danger, it will roll into a

spiked ball to protect itself. This four-legged creature

has a pointed head, a long, thick tail, and brown

scales. Never mistake a Chinese pangolin for a ball

and try to pick it up. Its pointy scales are razor sharp!
