ESSENTIALS

The Mars Generation
Neil Armstrong is about to be outdone
by a group of teenage astronauts as
they prepare for a possible future trip
to Mars. is documentary will follow
their training, so think of it as one long
space-themed Rocky montage.

It’s Always Sunny in
Philadelphia (S12)
Whether they’re pretending to have
Aids to skip a waterslide queue or
fi ring a rocket-launcher at a car, this
controversial sitcom will push the taste
boundaries even further this season.

House of Cards (S5)
In season fi ve of this political thriller,
Frank Underwood will put the spotlight
on terrorism to hide his own despicable
fl aws. It makes you think – could a real
US President ever do this? Nah, we’re
sure Underwood can’t be trumped...

American Gods (S1)
While Kanye considers himself a deity,
he’s not actually immortal like the
American Gods in this new series based
on a Neil Gaiman novel. Lovej... sorry,
Ian McShane plays Odin, preparing to
fi ght a war against the New Gods.

Casual (S2)
ink your living arrangements are a
pain? You might have a fl atmate who
leaves nail clippings on the sofa, but at
least you don’t live with your newly
divorced sister and teenage niece like
the guy in this comedy drama.

My Scientolo
y Movie
Once again, Louis eroux is nosing
about in other people’s business for
fun/educational purposes. is time
he’s hounding those lovely, rational
Scientologists – not renowned for
their openness to sceptical outsiders.

Sausa
e Party
is is a warning to all parents: not every
animation is child-friendly. Especially if it
features a sexually frustrated sausage,
a lesbian taco and a villainous feminine
hygiene product. How Seth Rogen got
away with this, we will never know.

Twin Peaks (S3)
e cult favourite ’90s show is back
from the dead. e same cannot be
said for the inevitable murder victims,
unfortunately, but most of the original
cast – and director David Lynch – are
on board for this ‘limited series’.

Suicide Squad
Do-gooders are boring. Superman
proved that with the snooze-fest
Man of Steel, so DC has switched its
attention to the bad guys instead with
the emotionally unstable Harley Quinn
and punked-out Joker.
