Quest Aircraft has unveiled the next
generation of the Kodiak 100: Series II
(pictured). Standard features include Gar-
min’s G1000NXi, as well as an Angle-of-
Attack indexer, digital 4-in-1 standby, and
Flight Stream 510. It also features a rede-
signed cargo doorstep and a single point
refueling station as an option.

Bearhawk Aircraft reports that Bear-
hawk Canada has launched, with Mike
Silvernagle in Saskatchewan representing
the company in Canada for sales, service,

Avflight Corporation has opened a
new FBO facility at Harrisburg Interna-
tional Airport (KMDT) in Pennsylvania.
Avflight will soon break ground on a new
30,000-square-foot hangar, which is ex-
pected to be complete in January 2019.

The National Gay Pilots Associa-
tion has launched its 2018 scholarship
program, which encompasses more than
$100,000 in awards from private pilot to


tailwheel endorsement to advanced flight

The 37th annual Concrete Fly-In in
Washington state will move its traditional
third weekend of July date up one week
to July 13-15. The move was made to
accommodate flyers who would like to

attend the July 6-8 Arlington Fly-In and
still have time to make it to the July 23-
29 EAA AirVenture Fly-In, according to
organizers.

Dr. Harley Richards has been elected
chairman of SUN ’n FUN, replacing Bob
Knight, who stepped down as chairman
after this year’s fly-in. An accomplished

pilot, Richards has been on the SUN ’n
FUN board for 10 years.

The General Aviation Manufactur-
ers Association (GAMA) has revealed
that Erie 1 BOCES Harkness Career and
Technical Center in Cheektowaga, New
York, is the winner of the sixth annual
Aviation Design Challenge.
GAMA sent four students, a teacher,
and a chaperone from the team on an all-
expenses paid trip to help build a plane at
Glasair Aviation in Arlington, Washing-
ton, from June 17 to June 30.
