Delta Dreamliners

Cancelled
Delta Air Lines has agreed with the
manufacturer that it can cancel an order for
18 Boeing 787 Dreamliners that it inherited
when it merged with Northwest Airlines in
2008.
Greg May, Delta’s Senior Vice President

  • Supply Chain Management and Fleet,
explained: “Delta is one of the world’s largest
operators of Boeing aircraft and our valued
partnership will remain strong as we safely
and comfortably serve our customers across
    the world every day.
“This business decision is consistent with
Delta’s eet strategy to prudently address
    our widebody aircraft needs.”

Cessna Scraps Skycatchers
Cessna has recently scrapped all the
remaining examples of the Model 162
Skycatcher, which had been in storage in
a hangar at Independence, Kansas since
early 2014 when the company stopped
selling the aircraft.

It is believed that around 69 aircraft are
involved out of the almost 300 built. The
Skycatcher was manufactured in China and
processed for sale by Yingling Aircraft in
Wichita, Kansas.
Although it was envisaged as a Light

Sport Aircraft (LSA) replacement for the
highly successful Cessna 150/152 only a
few examples were sold outside the USA,
primarily to Australia and New Zealand
with a couple going to Pakistan and one
registered in Germany. Rod Simpson
