10,000 airframe hours for CHC AgustaWestland
AW139.

AgustaWestland has marked the milestone event
of the first AW139 to reach 10,000 airframe
hours. Serial 31041 was first registered to CHC
in June 2006 and has remained on the same
PH-SHL registration ever since. This equates to
just over 1,100 hours a year on average.

Cabri G2 Fleet
Increases to Five

Midlands-based Helicentre Aviation Academy
has taken delivery of another Guimbal Cabri G2
painted in the same silver-grey paint scheme
and company livery as the existing Cabri G2
fleet which now stands at five, including two
aircraft which are leased from UK Guimbal
distributor Cotswold Helicopter Centre.

The keys were ceremoniously handed over by
Hélicoptères Guimbal’s President Bruno
Guimbal and the aircraft was taken for its
acceptance flight at the factory in Marseille,
France by Sarah Bowen, Managing Director and
Head of Training, accompanied by Oliver
Heynes from Cotswold Helicopter Centre.

Swedish operator Northern Helicopters are in
the process of acquiring three Robinson R44
Raven II’s.

The company statement included that “new CPL
pilots are able to start flying Robinson helicop-
ters directly after training, and thus the need for
CPL graduates to get another type rating to
make themselves more marketable for future
employment.”

Helitowcart is

new devices.

This year, the company wanted to better serve
private owners of light turbine helicopters need-
ing extra power at an affordable price. With that
objective in mind it created new economical
solutions: the V301 & V910.

First, Helitowcart extended its well known light
tow cart series by adding the new beefed-up
V301 model. Being equipped with a de-rated
gear mechanism its performance has surpassed
expectations on snow and slopes even with the
AS350. This unit is aimed at serving owners of
B206Bs, Enstroms, Robinsons and Astars who
need that extra traction yet wish to stay within
the light tow cart budget. The V301 brilliantly
closes the gap between Helitowcart's light black
V200 tow carts originally for Robinsons and its
heavy duty red V600 series Universal towcarts.

Second, the
company created
the V910 Light
Duty Heli-Carrier
for the same
private owners
clientele
looking for an
affordable solution
to carry their
helicopter from
point to point without using skid wheels.
Designed to serve the R44, R66, B206, and
AS350, the unit was built using the same high
quality controllers, traction motors and control
handle that have made Helitowcart's reputation
for reliability, precision and smoothness.

As a third
challenge the
company decided
to extend its well
known V1000
Heavy Duty
Heli-carriers to
serve with a single
machine
helicopters on
wheels or on
skids. The heavy duty V1060
Heli-carrier originally designed to lift and tow
wheeled helicopters and planes is fitted with
attachment arms to also be able to serve skid-
ded helicopters. Thanks to this development the
new V1060-20 COMBI is being introduced. The
result is the ideal machine for hangar managers
who host a mix of helicopters on skids, helicop-
ters on wheels and aircrafts.

Bell, Enstrom and
MD select Mid-Continent
MD302 Standby Attitude
Module

At the end of February, Mid-Continent Instruments
and Avionics announced that the company’s
MD302 Standby Attitude Module (SAM®) is being
offered as the digital standby display in the Bell
Helicopter 407GX, Enstrom Helicopter 480B-G,
and the MD Helicopters MD900 Explorer.
“SAM was a reliable and robust solution for our
standby instrument need. The clean design and
the ability to mount it vertically to fit our panel are
distinct advantages,” said Bill Taylor, Enstrom’s
director of engineering and chief test pilot. “We
also found Mid-Continent very responsive and
excellent to work with. When we considered the
cost, the functionality, and the people behind the
product, the SAM became our first choice.”

SAM is the first digital standby to provide attitude,
altitude, airspeed, slip, vertical trend, and inter-
faced heading information in an advanced 2-inch
format. The high-definition, two-screen display
compliments the flight deck and provides a
seamless transition from the primary flight
displays to the standby display during an
emergency situation.
