BRISTOL BEAUFIGHTER M k.X 57
Wing modification
featured revised ejector
chute design with
separate orifices for
links and casings.
Later again, a small
aerodynamic wedge
was screwed to the
wing outer surface
ahead of the forward
chute orifice.
Note enlarged elevator design and
shorter balance tab control rods and
horns moved from below to above
the elevators. Usually delivered with
'clean' nose caps but these were often
retrofitted with F.24 camera-endowed
caps on an as-needed basis.
Some squadrons replaced windscreen
wiper assembly with old Coastal
Command-developed venturi box ahead
of windscreen on nose. Mk.XII wing
featured fairings over the main spar
between the engine nacelles and
fuselage to accommodate drop tank
feed/vent system, single landing light
lamp in revised fairing, wooden
wingtips with smaller-pattern
navigation light openings, and revised
access panelling on both surfaces.
