Terminal 1 opens on

November 6 and existing

buildings renamed

Terminals 2 and 3.

On January 22, Pan Am  ight 2 touched

down at Heathrow from New York marking

the arrival of the  rst commercial Boeing

747 service to the airport.

1976

Concorde

makes its  rst

passenger  ight

on January 21.

1977

The London

Underground

link opens on

December 16.
