have its first Black woman on the

highest court in our land.

It was a 21st century Jackie Rob-

inson moment, a moment in which

barriers were at long last broken, but

it was also something even deeper.

Her confirmation is the embodiment

of our ancestors’ wildest dreams. For

so many Americans who carry hurt

and even scars about being over-

qualified and yet still denied, her

success was healing and fortifying

as we continue the work to make

ours a more perfect union.

This is a time to rejoice. Not only

will Ketanji Brown Jackson ascend

to the Supreme Court, she will serve

there for years to come and help our

nation move forward in its long and

epic journey toward justice.
