laborationwiththeAvioClubofMontagnana,theAeroClubofItalyand
several other smaller organisations.
It is held on Montagnana airfield, near the historic wall city of Mon-
tagnana,intheprovinceofPadua,northernItaly,overtheweekendof24-25
June. Over the past nine years, the event has grown in prominence on the
Italian and European airshow scene.
Almost 100 aircraft and pilots from all over Italy and other parts of Eu-
rope gathered at this little regional airport to spend two days flying and
promotingaviation.Withapredictedheatwavepotentiallyreducingcrowd
numbers,organiserswiselytrimmedthebookingsofsomeplannedinterna-
tional displays. However, the Swiss Pilatus P-3 Warbird Team brought five
aircrafttotheevent.AustrianFredKroissenbrunnerflewforfourhoursin
his L-19 Birddog to join three local examples, including event organiser An-
drea Rossetto’s newly restored O-1 ‘Mekong Mauler’.
Next year will be the tenth anniversary and organisers are considering a
change of date so as to hold the Fly Party during the first week of Septem-
ber when the weather is much cooler.Rob Fox
