Sisters celebrate a 70th birthday

I was pleased to learn, before watching Eden
— Untamed Planet (BBC2), that the narrator
was to be Helena Bonham Carter. Imagine my
disappointment to discover that some bright spark
had advised her to speak in an awed whisper, as
though the animals might be scared by her voice.
How she managed to avoid getting a sore throat
I do not know. I just know that I got a sore brain
and turned off the sound and relied on subtitles.
Colin Wilson
