SUMMER

PART Y

SPECIAL
ESTABLISHMENT

LEGENDS
WHO Madonna ( 1 ), Bianca Jagger ( 4 ),

Michael Caine, David Bailey, David
Furnish ( 5 ) and Elton John ( 6 ), Keith

Richards, Rod Stewart, Jerry Hall (7), Joan
Collins ( 8 ) and Nicky Haslam ( 9 ). Plus a

smattering of MBAs (middle-aged British
artists) such as Jake Chapman ( 2 ) and

Tracey Emin ( 3 ).
THE LOWDOWN There’s no London scene

without this lot: they built it and, if we’re
honest, still rule it. They don’t go out for

any old bash any more — small, intimate
dinners at friends’ houses, a visit to a well-

loved London landmark that holds many
memories, or parties behind closed doors are

more their style. A sighting of them in public
is like seeing a unicorn in the flesh.

WHERE Claridge’s, the Dorchester, the
Wolseley, Tramp, Mark’s Club, Mr Chow

in Knightsbridge, the Serpentine
Summer Party and the preview party for

the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition.
LABELS Vintage Yves Saint Laurent,

old Balenciaga, vintage Thierry Mugler,
old, old Chanel — basically anything

they can tell the story behind.

DOWNTOWN

DUCHESSES AND^

BELGRAVIA BARONETS

WHO Key players include Sabine Getty ( 1 ),

Princess Beatrice ( 2 ) and Edo Mapelli Mozzi
( 3 ), Lily Lewis ( 4 ), Emma Weymouth ( 5 ),

Princess Eugenie ( 6 ) and Jack Brooksbank ( 7 )
and Lady Amelia Windsor ( 8 ).

THE LOWDOWN You’ll find our honourable
ladies and gentlemen sauntering down

the Kings Road, the boys sporting a
neckerchief or cravat and bright trousers,

espadrilles or tasselled loafers, initial
cufflinks from Turnbull & Asser and a

signet ring. No-fuss, pristine white shirts
from the girls — Ralph but never Tommy

— with jeans pressed to within an inch of
their lives and Chanel ballet pumps. The

latter work in galleries or have started their
own PR firm and organise weekends to

Ibiza; the guys are booze-brand ambassadors
or hedge fund managers. They still shop at

Partridges, which prepares their picnic
hampers for Hurlingham Polo and Henley.

WHERE The private members’ clubs
5 Hertford Street, Maison Estelle, the

Chiltern Chop Shop (Chiltern Firehouse for
muggles), Annabel’s — plus the SW3

stalwarts Raffles and Colbert.
LABELS Suits from H Huntsman and

Sons and Anderson & Sheppard; for the
girls, Jenny Packham, Alessandra Rich

and Temperley. ■

THE BRIGHT

YOUNG THINGS

WHO The cast of teen drama Heartstopper,
models Elfie Reigate ( 2 ), Cora Corré ( 7 )

and Jean Campbell, model and social media
star Callum Mullin ( 3 ), actors Iris Law ( 4 ),

Ncuti Gatwa ( 5 ) and Ella Balinska ( 1 ),
and Lady Lola Bute ( 6 ).

THE LOWDOWN This lot have it down to
a tee — generally born after 2000,

they’ve grown up with access to the
internet and social media, nailing trends

and confidence at an age when other tribes
were still learning how to tie their shoes.

They have a laugh, they start businesses,
they have big ideas and they work very

hard. They can also be seen people-
watching at a nice bar or pub in Soho

with outdoor seating and pouring
Tesco-bought gin into lemonade.

WHERE The local pub or restaurant, at
dive bars, raves, each other’s houses

— or their parents’ pads in the country.
LABELS Vivienne Westwood, Loewe,
