Scale Aviation Modeller International — November 2017

complete. I chose to add minimal
weathering, just some dust
around the fuselage footsteps.

CONCLUSION
This is not a kit for a beginner.
That said, it has the potential
to be highly rewarding.
World War I subjects are often
more complex to build than other
types, largely due to their mix of
materials and open structures,
which require planning and
incremental painting – aside
from the dreaded rigging!
In this case, Copper
State’s engineering
is excellent, with
exemplary fit
throughout. The only issues
arise from that difficult-to-use
etched metal and the occasional lack
of painting instructions. However,
the metal exhaust is marvellous,
and warrants leaving the cowling
off to show it to best effect.
For a modeller with a modicum of
experience in multi-media builds, this
package can turn out a terrific model.
Many thanks to Copper State
models for the opportunity
to build this model.
