Scale Aviation Modeller International — November 2017

(ff) #1

Ilyushin? No, it’s real!

FLY

W

e ran out of space for first
looks this month, so we will
bring you a closer look at
the new Fly Il-10s next month, suffice
to say it is a whole lot better than the

original KP, kit. If you have the old
kit, sell it to a collector and use the
money to buy and build this one!
Expected later this year also in 1/72
scale is a PZL-37A. And if the Il-10 is
anything to go by we can expect a treat.

Big Boston

HGW

T

his company
is very well
known for
its accessories, in
particular their
micro-fibre seat
harnesses and
stencil decals. At
Eday, however,
they announced
their first foray
into kits with a
resin 1/32 Douglas
A-20 Boston. The kit is in the early
stages of development with no release
date yet announced. The model is

being developed in partnership with
HpH, so its quality is assured.

Albatros!

SPECIAL HOBBY

W

e have more
news from
Special Hobby
on the 1/32 scale, Fokker
D.II. The decals for
the cowlings are being
designed in CAD and the
images do look really good.
On show at Eday were
the sprues for the 1/48
scale Aero C-3, along with
the 1/72 scale
CASA 212 and
1/72 scale
P-40N. It was
good to see
these at first
hand and from
what we have
seen these kits
are a far cry
from the short
run kits of old!
By the time
you read this
the 1/48 scale
Aero L-39Z A
Albatros should
be available.
This kit will
come with some
very interesting
schemes Czech of course, as well as Thai, Algerian
and an example flown by Israeli test pilots. The
Algerian version features three schemes including
one which flew with a replacement wing featuring
Nigerian camouflage and markings. So one to
confuse your fellow model club members with!
