in various ways, but there was no
way to align both sides and get away
with a clean fit. In the end, I filled
the holes and leveled the surface
with 0.5mm-1mm styrene sheets,
and then I filled the remaining
imperfections with filler. I then
re-scribed and added any detail
lost during the sanding process.
Next I applied an overall coat of
AK178 Black Primer, I then installed
the windscreen and canopies, and
closed-up the wheel bays, to avoid
any overspray. My choice for the
Foxhound’s exterior colour was
AK2014 Camouflage Grey,
over a marbled pre-shade.
The kit came with metal
parts for the landing gear, and
considering the size and weight of
the kit, they were a real bonus. Some
of the metal parts resembled the
landing gear, while some are just
rods, which once encased by plastic
produce a detailed and strong
undercarriage. The space between
the metal and plastic parts was very
tight, so I reduced the metal rods
slightly by using mini files, thisApplying the decalsAdding the various nose sensorsThe undercarriage is white metal with rubber tyresThe kit supplied etch adds some nice touches90 • MARCH 2018 • SCALE AVIATION MODELLER INTERNATIONAL
