BUMPPFF..................................

In early August

2017, a Boeing 787-8

Dreamliner embarked

on a 4,000-mile

route, which took 17

hours to complete, in

order to create the

flight path shape of

itself.

on tracking website
flightradar24. In
February 2012, a
Boeing 787-8 took an
18-hour flight travelling
more than 10,000 miles
from Washington State
to Iowa as it traced out 787 and the Boeing
logo in the skies above the US. At the time,
Randy Tinseth, vice president of marketing
at Boeing, said: ‘This wasn’t a joy ride. It
was an 18-hour Maximum ETOPS duration
flight test for a 787-8 with GE engines.’
Social media was quick to mount a
spoof response to Boeings feat by creating
the following (fake) response from Airbus:

In the corridors of SAA it is

said, “New SAA

CEO Vuyani

Jarama was

appointed

because they

thought he

had airline

experience - but

it turns out he

only has airtime

experience.”

‘Mauler’ on internet forum
http://www.avcom.co.za was
asking for suggestions for a
lightweight, affordable aircraft
for short hops, occasionally to
rough airfields. RK suggested
a Robinson R22, to which

‘Bearcat’ replied:

“Come on RK,

every time I even

walk past an R22

it demands R1,000

of maintenance ...

and if I take a pic

... it’s R500 more.”
