This T-bird normally stands guard at the main gate but was
now seen somewhere else, canopy covered. It could be this
was a temporary move because of the open house. (last year
it was part of the static) Same applies for the T-34A below.

This Osprey was photographed when under tow outside one
of the factory halls, colour scheme was light grey or light blue
so more like JMSDF aircraft. However JGSDF personnel is cur-
rently being trained at MCAS New River (NC) with VMMT-
204. Delivery of the first aircraft is planned for September
2017.

At the Komatsushima open house an SH-60J was on the static
with extra black/white colours and with s/n 8224. As the real
8224 was withdrawn somewhere back in 2007, it is unlikely
this frame was stored for ten years to be put on display. More
likely it is a frame with a s/n between 8245-8255 and painted
as 8224, the last two prominently on the fuselage represent-
ing 24 Kokutai. Probably for preservation/display near the
main-gate, taking the place of the T-34 now removed.
TH-135
In June 2017, an H135 was seen at Donauwörth with colours
similar to the JMSDF TH-135s and logged as D-HCBG with c/n
reported as 21162. All H135T3Hs have c/n starting with 2xxx,
c/n 1162 was an H135T2i and reported as delivered to the
JMSDF. (tie-up not known) It is possible the Japanese TH-135s
are modified to the T3H version and are receiving a “new”
c/n, receiving the additional ‘2’ in front of the original c/n.
But this is all still highly speculative.
