EQUIPPING FALCON JETS
ON 8X AND 7X MODELS
AND THE 2 FAMILY
NBAA 2017, Eric Trappier Das-
sault Aviation’s CEO revealed that
some days before he had been in-
formed about a new problem with
the development of Safran’s en-
gines and he suggested that all the
options were being considered,
including project cancellation.
Finally, we began to hear
backstage information about
the 5X project, which would
be cancelled, and a new project
would be presented. An ultra-
long range aircrat or a smaller
aircrat in the line of the Falcon
2000, which would incorporate
new technologies. Trappier came
to make some statements on the
ultra-long range aircrat and it
seemed that it was in fact the end
of the 5X. However, in late Febru-
ary, we were invited to Paris for
an announcement. From the 5X,
a new project would be born, the
6X, which we show in detail in
the coming pages.
THE PROGRAM
he 6X will be born more suitable
than its predecessor to meet Bra-
zilian and Latin American market
demands. he choice of the Pratt
& Whitney 812D engine and the
expansion of an aircrat section
brought more room to the cabin
(510 mm more in length and 52.
m3 more in volume), but also and
above all, they increased its range
up to 5,500 nm at Mach 0.8, allow-
ing the performance of non-stop
lights from Sao Paulo to Europe, as
shown in the graph on the opposite
page.
In addition to continue having
the market’s highest cabin (1.98 m,
the height of the basket star Michael
Jordan), other highlights are sensa-
tion of altitude of the cabin – equiv-
alent to 1,189 meters in the FL

  • and the quality of air with humid-
ity control – 10 times better than the
standard found in oices and hotels,
    according to Dassault.
