NEW 77

LOOK LIKE?

The clues about the new Boeing’s aircraft

W

hat is known up to
the moment is that
the new aircrat
should use a tail cone
similar to that used
in the 737 MAX, it will have a two-aisle
fuselage with an intermediate cross sec-
tion between the 737 and the 767. he
wings have employed the same design
and construction technology of the
787, but, observing details of the 777X
project, with signiicant gains in light
performance. he fuselage should have a
hybrid construction, combining com-
posite materials to new and advanced
metal alloys, similar to the 777X project.
It is speculated that the fuselage will
have a double-bubble layout, providing
more room for the passengers. Although
Asian enterprises are working to obtain
a fuselage with great load capacity and

possibility of shipping palletized cargo.
he windows should be equal to the 787
and 777X, allowing better light inci-
dence in the interior and better experi-
ence for the passenger. he cabin should
be similar to that of the 787/777X,
creating a concept in the Boeing’s
product line family. Finally the front
section should maintain the same frame
of the 757/767/777, also using the same
windshield. he intent will be to reduce
production and maintenance costs, in
addition to make good use of a section
that still today is considered state of the
art. Engines have not yet been deined,
however the market believes that could
be a variant of the current CFM Leap-
1or Pratt & Whitney Pure Power. he
inal project characteristics should only
be made oicial at the end of the year,
with the irst light in mid-2025.
