KIT BUILD
We take a detailed look at the latest kit to be
released from Revell’s large-scale stable...
R
evell seems to be able to
produce large-scale models
of popular subjects at almost
bargain prices and this
Mustang is the latest in their
list of WW2 warbirds. It really is hard to
argue with their value for money, costing
approximately a third of the price of the
Tamiya 1:32 Mustang. However, is it in
any way two-thirds less of a kit?
This is a brand new tooling of the early
version of the P-51D without the fi llet on the
tail to fuselage, though the later version is
sure to be released as Revell have moulded
the tail as a separate piece. This is probably
the only drawback because if you do not
want to use the kit’s decal options, you are a
little limited as there are a lot of aftermarket
decals out there, but very few for the early
version with the tail sans fi llet.
You also get two different exhaust
systems, detailed cockpit, undercarriage
and oil cooler and radiator, separate control
surfaces and fl aps and two decal options.
