The one-piece moulding for the propeller is fantastic! It was airbrushed matt black before being

masked ready for the hub to be painted silver and the tips yellow.

The propeller is cleverly designed so that it can be free to spin, the silver hub just needs care when

glueing to the shaft that attaches to the nose before the spinner is attached over it to the backing

plate. Note the small manufacturer’s symbols and data decals have been applied here also.

A generous gloss coat was applied to protect the painting and decals from the perils of weathering

and washes. Acrylic Alclad Aqua Gloss is easy to use, airbrush ready and cleans up with water. It also

dries quickly too, within two hours you can get going with enamel and oil washes.

The panel lines and rivets details were highlighted using thinned artists oil paints. They were

liberally applied around the details before being allowed to dry off for an hour or two, they can then

be wiped down with kitchen paper.
