THE SLIDE

STEP 7

Remove the little screw at the rear of the slide that holds the blowback unit

in place. Lift it clear, and make sure you don’t lose the little spring from the

top. Put it back in now so it’s safe.

STEP 8

Lift out the rear sight, then take out the little screw at the front of the slide

that holds the fore sight in place.

STEP 9

Simply replace them in your new slide, using the original screw on the front.

STEP 10

Check the spring is still in place on the blowback unit, then offer it up into

the new slide. Make sure it’s seated properly before turning the slide over

and putting the small screw in. Once reattached, check that the blowback

unit moves forward smoothly, and that it springs back into place.

STEP 11

Give all the contact points of your slide a good wipe with lithium grease,

being careful not to get it in the blowback unit. It’s the rails that you really

want to concentrate on. Wipe off any excess with a clean cloth.
