MV-22Bs, the service still plans to
form two additional squadrons on
the type. The Osprey will achieve
FOC when the second of those
two units is declared operational
in mid-2021. The UH-1Y will
achieve FOC later this year when
the nal example is delivered to
the marines. Transition of two
remaining AC squadrons to the
AH-1Z will begin this year and once
the two RC squadrons convert from

the AH-1W, the Viper will achieve
FOC. Aircraft deliveries will be
completed in 2021.
The modernization of the heavy-
lift eet will begin in 2019 when
the rst CH-53Ks are delivered.
A lengthy transition will follow,
however, and the rst King Stallion
squadron will not complete its
conversion until 2023. The last
squadron will complete this
after 2029.
