Joramco, the Jordan-based engineering division of
Dubai Aerospace Enterprise (DAE), has secured
EASA Part 145 approval for the Boeing 787 aircraft
type. The announcement follows the company’s ac-
quisition of a similar approval for this type from the
Jordanian Civil Aviation Authority (JCARC) and the
Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in April 2018.
“We are ver y pleased to gain our EASA approval for
the Boeing 787. This approval allows us to broaden
our ser vice offerings to a wider base of customers
as we continue to build on Joramco’s success as a
leading MRO facility offering a globally competitive
suite of MRO ser vices,” shared Jeff Wilkinson, chief
executive offi cer of Joramco.
Offering a wide range of maintenance, repair and
overhaul (MRO) ser vices for commercial aircraft,
Joramco’s extensive portfolio includes customers in
the Middle East, Europe, South Asia, Africa, Russia
and CIS countries.
From its base in the free zone area of Queen Alia
International Airport in Amman-Jordan, Joramco’s
facility, which comprises of fi ve hangers capable of
accommodating up to 15 aircraft, offers ser vices for
Airbus, Boeing, and Embraer fl eets.
“The EASA approval for the Boeing 787 further
recognizes Joramco’s extended capability set in
maintaining new technology aircraft,” said Firoz
Tarapore, chief executive offi cer of DAE.
“This achievement refl ects DAE’s goal of develop-
ing a regionally-based world-class competitive MRO
and ser vices platform to complement its top-tier
leasing platform.”
As one of the largest aircraft leasing companies in
the world, DAE’s leasing and engineering divisions
ser ve over 125 airline customers across the world.

Round up of MRO agreements
and signings, both in the region
and beyond

MTU Maintenance, an MRO
company specialised in custom-
ised solutions for aero engines,
has signed a three-year main-
tenance, repair, and overhaul
contract with Jazeera Airways.
As per the agreement, MTU
Maintenance will oversee MRO
work related to the CFM56-5B
engines that power the airline’s
fl eet of A320 aircraft. An inde-
pendent service provider for the
CFM56-3/-5B/-7B variants, the
company recently reported in-
creased demand for -5b services.

Aircraft trading, leasing and
MRO specialist Vallair, has ac-
quired an A321 aircraft that will
be available for lease. Purchased
from Plane Business, the new
aircraft follows Vallair’s recent
purchase of six A320 aircraft,
which were tasked to serve
short-term lease agreements. It
is reported that the aircraft will
serve as foundation behind the
company’s launch of the
Airbus A321-200 P2F cargo
conversion programme.
