Sakra Hospital
conducts ‘Hands-
on-Hysteroscopy’
workshop

Sakra World Hospital, in
association with FOGSI
Endoscopy Committee,
conducted ‘Hands-on-
Hysteroscopy’ workshop
recently. The workshop
was attended by PG stu-
dents and medical prac-
titioners from different
hospitals. The workshop
aimed to strengthen the
practitioner’s knowl-
edge in see-and-treat
hysteroscopy and help
to deal with the rising
issues in the diagnosis of
inner lining problems of
uterus.
The important causes
of menstrual irregulari-
ties are commonly due
to hormonal imbalance,
PCOS, obesity, fibroids
and others and these
irregularities lead to
hormonal changes lead-
ing to uterine inner lin-
ing and the muscle layer
problems.

Medical Technology Association
of India, which represents leading
research-based medical technol-
ogy companies with significant
investments in manufacturing and
healthcare worker training in India,
has suggested the Government
should allow a one-time increase
of upto 18% in MRPs of medical

devices, including stents and or-
thopaedic knee implants, as rupee
depreciation and inflation have
raised their cost to companies.
Rupee has depreciated 13.13%
against the US dollar and 12.33%
against Euro in last one year.
Wholesale price inflation has hov-
ered between 4% and 5% during

this period. The current regula-
tory framework in India mandates
price ceiling for scheduled devices
like stents and orthopaedic knee
implants and allows only upto 10%
increase in Maximum Retail Prices
(MRPs) of regulated non-sched-
uled devices like catheters, heart
valves, etc.
