Despite these challenges, Gagnon
and the other NRC mechanics manage
to keep the research eet operational;
a talent that leads Paul Kissmann to
describe them as “geniuses”. Until a
lack of parts reduces their ranks, the
vintage aircraft will continue to push the
boundaries of science and technology;
signifying the continuing triumph of the
old over the new.
“This is a great place to work, and a great
place to y,” concluded Kissmann. “One
day is never like the next for the NRC Flight
Research Lab: it is always different!”
