whole range of tools

to complement their

model range. This is not really

surprising as their range is

carried not only by specialist

model shops but also more

general retailers. By having all

the tools, you need to complete

a model with the kits a beginner

in the hobby can get everything

they need at one place. While for

the enthusiast you know have a

many more shops than before.

Ultimate Model Products

S

omething I have not

seen before this month

from Ultimate products.

Customisable Sanding Sheets

provides an abrasive surface

that has been bonded to a

thin slightly flexible plastic.

Available in four grits from

very abrasive 240 grit via 400

and 800 to very fine 1200 grit

but what makes the unique is

using a sharp pair of scissors

that can be cut to shape to fit

the most awkward of spaces

and being on a rigid backing

they are very effective at

sanding down seam lines.

CONCLUSION

Like all Ultimate sanding products

these are washable and should

last many months/years of use

before they need replacing and in

just a week they have become an

essential item on my workbench.

his month we had yet

another envelope from

Ukraine with two more

of their comprehensive wheel

sets. Both sets are in 1/48

scale, the first set supplies the

six wheels for the Tarrangus/

Special Hobby SAAB Viggen. The

second set is for the Accurate

Miniatures B-25 Mitchell which

can also be found in Italeri,

Revell and Academy boxings.

All are nicely cast all you

have to do is removed the

casting block with a razor saw

followed by a little clean up with

a sanding stick before painting.
