The Fagen Fighters WWII Museum is
gradually restoring Curtiss Helldiver
SB2C-5 83393 to airworthy condition
at its Granite Falls, Minnesota base.
The dive-bomber was delivered to
the US Navy during World War Two,
but crashed after stalling during
a forced landing at Dahlgren,
Virginia on July 24, 1945, which
sadly killed its pilot.

The aircraft was placed with the
National Air and Space Museum at
Washington DC in the early 1990s
before being acquired by Ron Fagen
in 2011. The wings and tail section are
being worked on separately and many
of the parts have had to be copied and
rebuilt due to extensive corrosion.
