XR713 basks in the glow of a
winter sunset on February
24 at its Bruntingthorpe,
Leicestershire base. The
aircraft, owned by the Lightning
Preservation Group (LPG)
was appearing at an evening
photography shoot. It was a
‘gate guardian’ at Leuchars
for many years and acquired
by the LPG after the Scottish
base announced its closure.
It joins two taxiable F.6s at
Bruntingthorpe – XR728 and
