EMBRAER
E-JETS
Embraer, as well as its eternal rival
Bombardier, has also said good bye
to commercial aviation during Le
Bourget. Production and marke-
ting of the current E-Jets are now
the responsibility of Boeing Brasil
Comercial.
MILITARY PRAETOR
Honoring its name that makes re-
ference of the guard of old Roman
emperors, Praetor 600 has become
a new new Airborne Warning plat-
form. The model is the first aircraft
launched by Embraer after the sale
of its commercial division [read

GULFSTREAM
G500
Gulfstream has also benefitted from
the Paris Air Show to demonstra-
te its models for the government
audience. The Gulfstream family is
widely used for authorities around
the world as official aircraft, also
in the United States, where it gives
support to state secretaries and top
level authorities. Qatar Airways
has exhibited a Gulfstream G500,
operated by Qatar Airways, the pri-
vate jet charter division of the Arab
company. The model is offered to
passengers in need of maximizing
their time and flying to destinations
not necessarily served by regular
aviation. The company offers the
G500 as a private first class.
LOCKHEED-MARTIN
F-35
If sometime a program has had com-
fortably exceeded the number of other
aircrafts this is the F-35. However, the
project continues to be a nightmare
for all its operators. Its operating, ac-
quisition and development costs have
become the highest ones of all the
military aviation history. Lockheed is
working to mitigate such problems at
the same time as the Pentagon wants
to reduce the value of each received
unit. In parallel, the White House
complicates the delivery of the first
aircrafts to Turkey that has recently
entered into a political conflict with
the United States.
HERCULES
The C-130 is also suffering in its global
sales, but Lockheed has revealed a new
proposal for a sea patrol version, na-
med Sea Hercules. The intent is deve-
loping a roll-on/roll-off kit, a sea patrol
refueling device that can be integrated
to the existing platform with minimum
interferences in the aircraft structure.
