S

ince 50 years, the world’
largest aeronautical meeting
takes place in the small and
quiet city of Oshkosh, in the
interior of Wisconsin, north
of the United States. Different from
the Paris and Farnborough salons,
more addressed to the regular and
military aviation market, with billion
dollars being negotiated, the Air Ven-
ture has emerged as a meeting be-
tween aviation amateurs. Promoted by
the Experimental Aircraft Association

EAA, the fair has not only popula-
rized Oshkosh to the world, but has
also given wings mainly to light and
classic aviation.
In the commemorations, the
aviator John Dyke has donated a
Dyke Delta JD-2 to the EAA, which
was exhibited during the Air Venture
2019 beside the iconic Brown Arch.
This aircraft, by the way, was no less
that the first one to land in Oshkosh
in the first edition of the Air Venture
with aircrafts in the city.
