familiarfaceonTVfor
almost two decades,
from being a presenter builder
on Room For Improvement
in the early 2000s to taking
out the trophy on 2005’s
Dancing With The Stars! And
after resigning as co-host of
afternoon show The Daily
Edition late last year, the
father-of-two, 48, has landed
the role of a lifetime – at least
in the eyes of his two
daughters, Storm, five, and
Sloane, three. Tom is the
latest ambassador for Disney
On Ice – a job he tells
Woman’s Day has his entire
family very, very excited.

Whatdidyoulovemost
aboutworkingonTV,and
what do you miss about it?
I love the dynamic of TV and
especially live TV. I got to
travel the world, go to the
biggest sporting events around
the globe and see so much of
Australia. Competing on and
winning Dancing With The
Stars season two will also
always be a highlight.
Are you still in contact with
your former The Daily Edition
co-host Sally Obermeder?
Of course! Sally and I have
caught up at charity functions,
and she popped into my office
the other day. She will always
bethemost professional, kind,
ourteous and caring
person I’ve ever met.
She’s a shining example
ofhow it doesn’t
akemuch to make
someone’s day, to show
guests you care and
thatyou’re genuinely
nterested. We will
forever be close. If I ever
getanother chance to
work in TV, I don’t think
theTV gods could
bestow me with
someone as gorgeous
and lovely as Sal.
