MONTROSE AIR STATION
HERITAGE CENTRE
RFC/RAF Montrose was the first operational
military airfield set up in Britain, opening in 1913,
and this excellent heritage centre tells its story.
The Hawk Major was received on loan from the
RAF Museum last year, and is on public display for
the first time in years.

THE SHUTTLEWORTH
COLLECTION
The famous collection of mainly airworthy
vintage aircraft, founded by the late Richard
Ormonde Shuttleworth, remains one of the jewels
in the crown of worldwide aircraft preservation.
Its airshows from May to October are legendary.
The idyllic 19th-century Swiss Garden, and The
House over in the parklands, are adjacent.
